Reddit Ads MCP in other clients

One remote server, one URL, whatever client you work in.

The one thing every client needs

This is a remote MCP server over HTTP, so a client needs the URL and nothing else:

https://mcp.redditadsmcp.com/mcp

There is no command to run, no package to install, and no API key or environment variable. Sign in with Reddit happens in your browser the first time a tool is called.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http reddit-ads https://mcp.redditadsmcp.com/mcp

Cursor, Windsurf, and most JSON configured clients

One entry in the MCP settings file:

{ "mcpServers": { "reddit-ads": { "url": "https://mcp.redditadsmcp.com/mcp" } } }

Clients that only speak stdio

Some older clients expect a local command rather than a URL. A stdio to HTTP bridge such as mcp-remote covers those: point the bridge at the same URL and the client sees a local server. Prefer native HTTP where the client has it, because the bridge is one more thing to keep running.

What to expect after connecting

A fresh connection is read only and can list accounts, campaigns, ad groups, ads, and reports immediately. Write tiers are granted in conversation with an exact phrase, so a client that cannot show you a consent screen still cannot change anything by itself.

If tools do not show up

  • Check the client is using HTTP transport, not SSE or stdio, for this URL.
  • Reconnect. The tool list is fetched after authentication completes.
  • Confirm the client supports OAuth for remote servers. A client that cannot do the OAuth handshake will connect and then list nothing.

Reddit Ads MCP connects your Reddit Ads account to Claude or ChatGPT, so the work in this post becomes a question you ask instead of a report you build. Start a 7-day free trial on your own ad account, then pay $12 a month. See what it does.
