Before you start
You need a Reddit account that manages the ad account, and a subscription or the 7-day free trial. You do not need Reddit Ads API credentials, a developer app, or anything installed.
The server URL is https://mcp.redditadsmcp.com/mcp.
Claude on the web, desktop, or mobile
Open Claude and go to Settings, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector. Name it Reddit Ads MCP, paste the server URL, and click Add.
Click Connect. Sign in with the Reddit account that manages your ads and click Allow.
Back in a chat, ask: "List my Reddit ad accounts."
Reddit's consent screen is Reddit's own. The connector receives a grant, not your password, and you can revoke it from Reddit's app settings at any time.
Claude Code
One command:
claude mcp add --transport http reddit-ads https://mcp.redditadsmcp.com/mcp
The Reddit sign in opens in your browser the first time you use a tool.
First things worth asking
- "List my Reddit ad accounts."
- "Give me an overview of account X for the last 30 days."
- "Which campaigns spent the most last week, and what did they get for it?"
- "Show me every ad group with spend and no conversions in the last 14 days."
All of those work on a read only connection, which is what a new connection is. More in prompts that work.
Turning on changes
When you want the assistant to change something, tell it so and it will ask you for a phrase. Typing ENABLE WRITES allows reversible changes. Typing ENABLE SPEND CHANGES allows anything that can start or raise spend. Both are per connection and you can go back to read only by asking.
If it does not appear
- The connector shows no tools. Disconnect and reconnect. The tool list is fetched after sign in.
- Sign in loops. Third party cookies blocked in the browser you signed in with is the usual cause. Try the desktop app.
- Tools answer that the subscription is not active. Start a 7-day free trial at /subscribe. Nothing needs to be reconnected afterwards.
